The bus trip for International Students was done on August 2-3.
We visited Amano-Hashidate (one of Japanese three famous views), Myoutsuji Temple (the national treasure), famous temples in the Kyoto city (the national treasure and the world inheritance) etc...
| This trip made me regret why I missed the one last year. It was an exciting journey in a group and with family. Although the trip was a short ・spanning just two days ・it provided an opportunity to visit many famous Japanese scenic and historical spots which I will most probably have missed during my stay in Japan. Visiting spots were well chosen. After months of following a home-daigaku-home routine, I found the monotony suddenly broken amidst green hills and inside dark tunnels along beautiful mountain roads. Contours of gently rising hills reminded my own village back home, although there is a great difference in altitude and greenery. I could not see throughout the journey any portions of the hills without dense vegetation -- an exemplary blend of development and natural conservation. I just wonder how lovely those long rugged slopes of mountains in my country would be if crowned with such greenery. I got a number of unique experiences. Decorating my own hashi (chopstick) in a hashi factory made me a factory worker for the first time. Visual impression looking at the sky through the window between one's own legs in Amano-Hashidate was mind boggling. And staying at Shonen Shizen No Ie brought me closer to mother nature. We also ran through highly urbanized areas of Kyoto city and visited historical and religious places, all of them well preserved. I felt Japanese architecture was well flourished even centuries ago. My family also were very happy. It was their first overnight travel in Japan. When asked where you would like to go, my two and half year old daughter still says Kyoto, and remembers more of riding the cable chair staying in my lap. In spite of the sweltering heat outside, we all enjoyed the trip fully. Thanks to Ryugakuseigakari (I.S.S) for conducting the trip, and respected Waka & Hujiyama sensei for leading it.
